In a future world where reading books is forbidden, the mission of "firemen" is to burn. Guy Montag, a fireman in the service of the government, begins to doubt the shallow and oppressive world around him, asking the most dangerous question of all – Why?

While his depressed wife, Mildred, leads an empty life fueled by pills and television, Montag meets a rebellious young woman named Clarisse who makes him feel alive for the first time. Montag's colleagues, Holden and Black, are completely oblivious to the questions arising within him, while his commander, Beatty, recognizes Montag’s distress and attempts to pull him back toward his fascist vision praising the burning of books.

Montag finds a mentor in Professor Faber, a former professor and Clarisse’s grandfather, who secretly cherishes literature and knowledge.

As Montag becomes more aware, he must confront his fears, his relationships, and the risks of challenging a society that demands conformity. The play explores themes of censorship, the power of art, and what makes us human.
